What in the Heck is Simply Sydney?
Hi friends, it’s me Syd! Whether we’ve yet to meet, or we already have I wanted to create a space where you can learn a little more about what in the world this Simply Sydney situation is. So, here goes…
Let me start by saying…I don’t really know what it is yet lol. But isn’t that how all good things begin?
What I do know, is that as a Fitness & Nutrition editor by day, I get more opportunities than most to share goodness with the world; the fact that that’s my job makes my soul sing.
It is invigorating and empowering to write, share, and inspire fitness and nutrition tips, recipes, workouts, workout programs, and more with the Sunny Health & Fitness and Hone Health communities.
But, I also want a space where I can worry less about fast news, analytics, and speaking to specific audiences, and just be me.
I’ve long toyed with the idea of putting together a blog. And often when I do I begin putting myself in a box - as the most successful blogs and platforms do. You either fit into the lifestyle, fitness, running, travel, or food category - most don’t do all, at least not well.
But once I’ve found myself stuck in a box, like ‘fitness instructor’, I’ve yet to see myself move forward with any one creative idea, because well simply put, it just doesn’t feel as free-flowing and full of life as me.
Simply Sydney is my attempt to not put myself into a box anymore. I’m a qualified fitness instructor, self-proclaimed kitchen queen, cookbook collector, avid reader, runner, hiker, traveler, aspiring gardener, working-from-home writer and editor, nail-art obsessed twenty-something living my little dream life here in LA.
My wildest fantasy is to build a community where everyone feels inspired to blossom and be true to themselves, just like I plan to do here.
I hope in the future to start some fun things like run or hike meetups, book clubs, and more. I’m sure this little space will continue to evolve as time goes on. But for now, welcome to Simply Sydney!
